I Go Hard in the Spaceman – Michael Fury
0![]()
I Go Hard in the Spaceman, that’s what she said! I couldn’t help myself. That mashup is Michael Fury’s new ‘less is more mashup’ with only two samples, Wacka Flocka Flame and Hardwell. We first featured a few of Michael Fury’s mashups back before the site crashed, so I’m happy to get him back on the website! Next up is the new one from KosherKittens, he surpassed the 4k download milestone recently so he decided to release a new one, to help him get a thousand more. Work It Back to Cali samples Notorious B.I.G., Jurassic 5, and Dave Matthews Band. If you’re like me, you’ve been seeing the direction that KosherKittens has been developing as a fresh mashup artist. He likes the old school sound of Biggy and 2Pac; he may still be a young college student, but he hasn’t forgotten the music that got us to where we are today!
Finally, we have a mashup from Costa Rica DJ, DJ Tuto. Let’s Go Back features Tiesto & Allure, James Egbert, Ne-Yo, and Wynter Gordon. It’s a great production, and like everything that DJ Tuto does, we know a mashup video will be coming soon! Look at what I’ve done here, I started with an ‘a vs. b’ mashup, added ‘c’ in the next one, and ended with four samples. That’s the beauty of mashups, you can keep it simple or have multiple angles, it still sounds good.

Spectrum of Love (Zedd vs. Akon vs. Afrojack…) – FourMore

And now for something a little different, or a lot different depending on your perspective. There is a new quartet of DJs in the industry and they go by the name of FourMore. It’s your classic barbershop quartet, except no one is singing (I hope), they are just making sweet sweet nectar in the form of music bootlegs and mashups. Currently, they are DJing from four different cities and four different time zones. We can appreciate that concept, we try to share good music from all over the United States (and the world, because we seek world domination – no, not really, though it would be cool, just saying). But they are able to produce music from four different areas in this country. FourMore is made up of brothers Kyle & Jared, plus their college friends Eric and Alex; currently representing the Bay Area, Honolulu, Texas, and Boston. We’re already familiar with Kyle’s work, or should I go by his stage name, T.Ski, a guy that we’ve featured in the past.
I discovered this new Fantastic 4 (only with musical powers instead of the ability to ignite into fire or form a rock wall) through T.Ski’s SoundCloud account and liked what I heard! Spectrum of Love is not another Zedd knockoff, rather it is a mega mashup of major mixing proportions. I takes samples from Zedd, Justin Bieber (we can overlook this if you can), Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Akon, David Guetta, Afrojack, and Will.i.am. This mashup meets their goal of sharing EDM music that makes you want to party and rage. I need a few more rage tracks though, it’s hard to rage to just one song, so FourMore, keep pumping them out and we’ll keep listening!
Summer Is Over – DOSVEC
0It has been a while since we’ve done a DOSVEC (DJ Whatt) feature and now that well, Summer Is Over, as he put it on his latest mashup; I figured it was time to let him take us into the new season. The season of test taking and parties, last-minute cram sessions and weekend benders, the decision to attend class or not and which house party to drop in on. Yes, we are getting underway with college courses again; let’s just hope you pass more classes than you did at the end of last semester and to the Freshmen, let’s hope you make it past the first semester without being placed on Academic Probation. The music video above the previously mentioned track by DOSVEC which includes samples from the Black Eyed Peas, Pitbull (featuring Marc Anthony), Kelly Clarkson, and Carly Rae Jepsen (I know, last time you heard from me I was hoping to be done with her for the day… I just can’t avoid it, sorry); all of these samples flow interchangeably over Calvin Harris & Ne-Yo’s Let’s Go.
Another mashup that brings me excitement for what’s to come is the latest from the Catalina Rhyme Mixers. They are planning on releasing their new album on Sunday, September 30, 2012 (mark your calendars now). It’s the followup to their “Mash-Stache” mixtape; this one will be entitled “Mullet Mash;” business in front, party in the back! Rocking Horse is the first preview we are getting of their latest project; I’m glad they decided to give us over five minutes of a taste instead of less! This thing is sampling Ellie Goulding, Afrojack and R3hab from what I can tell.
