Team Bayside High

I don’t care that it’s Monday, today I am going to do a late Recovery Sunday feature, because I have two great songs to share with you. I do feel like I’m a little behind on my discovery of these two tracks, but I absolutely love them and can’t stop listening. First up is Team Bayside High, a DJ/Producer duo (Rick Carrico & Derek Berry) straight out of Chicago, Illinois. This duo is known for one thing, their ability to bring the bass. But what does bass have to do with a ‘Recovery Sunday’? If you’ve ever heard The Postal Service’s Such Great Heights, then you know that it’s one of the most peaceful and relaxing songs out there. It would be hard to make that an aggressive song. Team Bayside High simply turned it into a Chillstep bootleg. Can I just say, there’s something about the right amount of bass that just puts me at ease? This is a great example of just that.

From Chicago to New York, it’s Branchez. He was really quick at creating a bootleg of Rihanna’s brand new song, Stay, featuring Mikky Ekko. If you haven’t heard the original yet, check out her music video on YouTube. Something tells me that the song is about Chris Brown, but hey, this isn’t about that back and forth relationship. This is about how Branchez was able to alter the song to a point where it was difficult for me to even pick up who originally sang the vocals in this song. Quite frankly, I thought it was all the same voice until I heard the original. It’s a great bootleg that you can just sit back and enjoy.
